Eczema - inventory update
Andrew's Eczema is getting better, and we anticipate it'll get even better when summer comes. However, our inventory did not stop growing:
Moisturizers:
Cetaphil lotion (Good for scalp)
Cetaphil cream (Very good overall moisturizer)
Aquaphor (Stopped, due to it contains lanolin, which can cause allergic reactions. However, it's good for cracked lips)
Creamy Vaseline (Does not work!)
Vaseline (Stopped a long time ago)
Vanicream (Good overall moisturizer, a big jar lasts a long time)
Johnson's (Don't!)
Aveeno Cream (Very good!)
Noodle & Boo Ultimate Oniment (Good for chapped chins from drooling, pricy!)
Hydrolatum (Very good, very hard to find!)
Auntie Liza's Special (Sincere thanks to Auntie Liza in Taiwan, specially made for Andrew. However, due to unknown ingredients, Mom's using it!)
Shampoos:
Neutrogena T-Gel (Too strong for infant)
Heads & Shoulders for Sensetive Scalp (Recommended by a dermatologist)
Aveeno's Baby Wash (It's ok...)
Body Wash:
Aveeno's Baby Wash (It's ok...)
Dove's Uncented (It's ok...)
Cetaphil (Gentle, we uses it on a regular basis)
Johnson's (Don't)
Baby Oils:
Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil (Mom's using it, smells great!)
Safeway Select (Rarely used)
Prescription Creams:
Elidel - (stopped, not recommended for children under 2)
Kenelog (stopped, it worked fine)
Elecon - (works well, improvement is visible)
.5% Hydrocortisone (use occasionally to relieve itch)
.25% Hydrocortisone (use occasionally to relieve itch)
Mimyx (Works well)
Eczema is hard on both the baby and the parents. It requires tremendous amount of patience, time, and $$$ to treat the condition. If your baby has similar skin condition, I hope this list will help you to select the best fit for your loved one.
